Overall Role Purpose

An Air Freight Export Operations Specialist will receive training and development in the below responsibilities:

•   Managing and completing the administration of the Airfreight Import and Airfreight Export forwarding process according to defined procedures.
•   Managing processes, handling and distributing all required documentation in the Airfreight Import forwarding process; and
•   Ensuring customer requirements are met and all required documentation is completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Accountabilities

Customer, Other Stakeholder & Process

•   Invoicing of externally cleared shipments
•   Interrogate Customs status’ using ICS
•   Complete corrections to rating errors and AWB’s
•   Carry out any corrections and adjustments as necessary to Airfreight Import forwarding process
•   Handle general enquiries as required
•   Manage and follow up on intent to claims
•   Monitor and arrange retrieval of cold chain shipments from airlines
•   Provide support and back up to colleagues
•   Additional tasks as instructed by Department Manager / Supervisors

Skills / Qualifications

•   General Knowledge of Freight Forwarding
•   AFR or OFR Operational Experience (advantageous)
•   General Geographical Knowledge i.e. Port locations
•   Clear and concise communication skills
•   Be a highly motivated self-starter.
•   Results & outcome driven
•   Be able to demonstrate strong communication and administration skills
•   Able to work independently
•   Adaptable to changes daily due to customer requests
•   High degree of reliability and attention to detail.
•   Be a team player with a positive can-do attitude.
