Position Title: Engineer I, II, Sr - LNG

Location: Bettendorf, IA, United States

Description:
The engineer, liquefied natural gas provides highly technical engineering services and directs the work of others for the planning, daily operations and maintenance activities of assigned units to achieve high productivity and quality work and ensure safe, reliable and efficiencies at MidAmerican Energy Company's liquefied natural gas and liquefied propane gas facilities.

Responsibilities:
Monitor liquefied natural gas plant and generation unit performance against the plan goals and objectives. Review, recommend and implement facility improvements to operate and maintain the liquefied natural gas plant and generation units to remain competitive in the cost of liquefied natural gas peak shaving and power generation. Ensure that work is properly identified, prioritized, planned, scheduled and performed in the most cost-efficient way to achieve the mission. (40%)

Provide advanced and highly technical engineering assistance to other departments; direct the work of others for the planning, daily operations and maintenance activities of assigned units. (30%)

Provides technical leadership to technicians and engineers. May facilitate internal training classes for technicians; responsibilities may include preparing data for senior management and professional/industry groups. (10%)

Keep informed of industry issues/technical trends and recommend and implement changes to benefit MidAmerican Energy Company's business. (5%)

Provide technical input to assist in development of project planning. (5%) Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. (5-10%)

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.

Three-five years of industry experience as a practicing engineer for the engineer II role.

Five years of industry experience as a practicing engineer, and must be a licensed PE for the senior engineer role. If no PE license then must have eight or more years as a practicing engineer.

Knowledge of peak plant operations, generation plants and combustion turbines.

Knowledge of The Code of Federal Regulations (49 CFR Parts 192-193, Part 40, 192 Subpart N and also NFPA 58 pages 801 thru 809 and NFPA 59 section 1-1.3, 10-1.4).

Effective oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills. Effective interpersonal skills and leadership abilities. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Advanced project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
