In this position, you will work with a diverse community of experts, project leadership, and testing leadership to test IT based performance solutions across a range of computer-based training, data analytic solutions, interactive electronic technical manuals, and associated outputs. These solutions support a diverse range of Military, First Responder and Government Civilian personnel including but not limited to those in: NAWCAD WOLF; NAVAIR; Navy Maintainers; Radar, Identification and Communication systems; National Guard, and FMS communities within DoD/Federal programs. The primary worksite for this combined Government and Contractor team is at Webster Field in St. Inigoes MD. As a core tester you will be leading testing and QA of both functional and content conformance to project, user and infrastructure objectives for targeted projects and test events under the guidance of test leadership. You will support testing across multiple concurrent projects at various stages of maturity with a mix of common, tailored/extended, and unique components in each project. The ideal candidate will successfully support system-level testing, system-integration testing, user-acceptance testing, multiple deployment environment testing and migration toward applying automated test scripting/execution. You will have targeted responsibilities within not more than 6 months under the guidance of the Test Portfolio Lead for select project test leadership working directly with the project lead for that area(s) as the test representative ensure test execution within all areas of that/those projects including test planning adjustments which may occur frequently to align resources, project objectives, and emergent needs. Remote candidates are welcome, though preference will be given for candidates located within 100 miles of Webster Field St Inigoes, MD able to travel to NAWCAD WOLF at least 1 day per week. This 1 day a week to NAWCAD WOLF is not considered part of the non-local travel requirement below.
Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in a technical, QA, analytic or test discipline with at least 3 years' experience, an Associates in a relevant field as described earlier with at least 5 years' experience, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 9 years' experience. A relevant professional certification in software or systems quality assurance/test shall may be substituted for 2 years of experience. A Master's degree in a relevant discipline may be substituted for 2 years of experience. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and able to qualify for a Security Clearance. Active Security Clearance is a plus. Position may require non-local travel approximately 10% of the time.
Required Capabilities:
  • Decompose high level requirements, use cases, project objectives, and user stories into tailored project test actions and artifacts.
  • Work with Project and Functional leads to analyze user stories and business process requirements to develop test materials
  • Update and tailor test plans, test execution inputs and artifacts, test coverage matrices, reports, and associated briefing packages in parallel with software and content development work.
  • Execute testing for content emphasizing software products addressing static, dynamic and interactive content.
  • Expand and maintain test repositories and tracking.
  • Provide the quality assurance/test perspective in Agile/Iteratively software development, interactive courseware development, and/or interactive electronic technical manual development.
  • Investigate test failures or other system anomalies and characterize possible root causes.
  • Support the Test Portfolio Lead as a contributing process owner of the Team's testing toolkit enabling the rapid implementation and continuous process improvement for tailored implementation across small and mid sized projects running concurrently.
  • Support the risk, opportunity, and issue (RIO) identification and mitigation processes.
  • Develop inputs for and track action items, planning and coordinating events, and programmatic data calls.
  • Prototype and recommend project and overall team process improvements.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both structured and unstructured media
At least 2 years of experience directly in software testing, game, training, or cloud solution with an emphasis on functional and integration testing or or DoD technical data quality assurance. At least 1 year of experience testing in an agile development/content creation team is highly desired. Additionally, at least 3+ years of experience in two of the below areas or 2+ years in three areas:
  • Content focused software testing (interactive courseware, mobile applications, video games)
  • Navy interactive Courseware
  • Navy IETMs quality assurance
  • Navy Fleet Maintenance QA experience
  • Management of multiple concurrent testing for unrelated products
  • Web site Testing/QA
  • Web Application Testing/QA
  • Section 508 Testing
  • Video/Multimedia QA
  • Video Game
  • Mobile Application
  • MI/AI or NLP systems
  • Requirements/User Story analysis
