Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise to project teams regarding building materials, detailing, code analysis, project documentation, construction administration, and other project-centric processes.
  • Provide technical detailing in a variety of construction materials and building types.
  • Collaborate with designers and teams to translate design concepts into sound technical solutions.
  • Mentors, plans, and organizes the work of technicians
  • Provides instruction and sets objectives for staff.
  • Provides direction on unconventional and/or complex problems and possible solutions.
  • Attends internal project team meetings and client meetings.
  • Independently performs a wide range of complex duties under minimal supervision from Architects




  • 25+ years experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university

General Characteristics

  • Maintains knowledge of current industry trends on space, function, materials, etc.
  • Proficiency with computer software including Revit Architecture required
  • Working knowledge of Sketch-Up and Adobe Creative Suite/Bluebeam preferred
  • Time management and organization skills with the ability to be involved and remain current on issues relating to a number of one-two projects in various stages
  • Demonstrated ability to develop awareness and begin to lead team coordination of contract documents
  • Strong graphic, verbal, and written communications skills
  • Positive attitude and commitment to being an active participant working as part of a multidiscipline Team
  • Ability to direct and lead a production team of architectural teammates to develop and orchestrate full team coordination of contract documents
  • Demonstrated practical knowledge of codes and related industry standards
  • Production experience preparing deliverable drawing sets in Revit Architecture required
  • Excellent time management and organization skills with the ability to become involved in and remain current on issues relating to a number of concurrent. projects in various stages
  • Ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately
  • Self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skills
  • Positive attitude and commitment to being an active participant working as part of a multidiscipline team
  • Can be relied upon to present directly to the client on technical and design solutions. Works closely with the project manager to execute project plans
  • Coordinates with project manager to directly supervise the teams’ design and technical delivery
  • May include special expertise roles and titles, such as medical planner, lab planner, etc.
