Responsibilities

Corporate and M&A Strategies:

  • Identify, research, analyze and value potential acquisitions, joint ventures, investments and other strategic growth opportunities
  • Work closely with the Executive Director, Corporate Development to lead the development of M&A strategies
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the team members and other key stakeholders based on research and analysis of the industry, as well as detailed due diligence of potential opportunities
  • Support M&A strategy objectives – including the development and tracking of acquisition opportunities, and all phases of transaction execution
  • Proactively establish and maintain an active M&A pipeline; ensuring rigor of underlying investment cases and alignment with MSA’s strategy
  • Analyze macroeconomic trends, industry dynamics, and competitive landscape
  • Create, review, and present financial models including valuation and pro forma M&A analysis
  • Prepare presentations which outline the strategic and financial rationale for transactions for senior management and the Board of Directors

Project Management, Due Diligence and Integration:

  • Perform and lead the due the diligence process including financial analysis and risk assessment
  • Assist in the development and communication of the strategic business case to obtain senior management and Board support
  • Support the transaction negotiation and closing process
  • Manage the integration planning phase
  • Manage cross-functional teams with a hands-on, team-oriented approach
  • Ensure effective management of post-closing activities

Relationships Building and Networking:

  • Creating and maintaining deep, trust-based relationships in the industry and personal connections with potential sellers
  • Proactively network
  • Build and sustain relationships across MSA
  • Stay up to date on ongoing recent events, transactions, and market trends


Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Science or other related field
  • Minimum of 7+ years of relevant professional experience in M&A in the areas of acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, investment banking, strategy consulting
  • Experience in leading global projects and cross-functional teams as well prioritizing multiple projects and initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing, evaluating and negotiating business transactions including acquisition evaluation, financial modeling and financial analysis
  • Experience analyzing historical financial performance and future projections (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
  • Strong analytical skills, creativity in problem solving, research capabilities, and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to develop concise and effective communications tailored to specific audiences
  • Results oriented, metrics driven leader focused on continuous improvement
  • Strong track record of implementing strategies with both short and long-term impact
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Complex problem-solving ability to identify issues, evaluate options, and determine viable solutions
  • Experience in leading change and innovation
  • Ability to interact with senior executives and handle high pressure

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • MBA
  • Experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity or management consulting
