To accelerate growth and support high-quality program delivery, we are looking for a leader with a combination of healthcare program delivery experience and federal contracting acumen who has a passion for leading dynamic Program Management teams to achieve and deliver superior contract outcomes for Sedgwick Government Solutions (SGS) high profile federal customers.


The Federal Programs/Program Manager will lead a diverse team of clinical and non-clinical experts to build and nurture loyal, long-lasting relationships and manage the approach to providing services and achieving program outcomes for Federal Government clients. The scope of responsibility includes program delivery, quality control, financial management reporting, and client experience/satisfaction.


Overseeing program execution and client success, the program manager develops the plans and timelines for program deliverables, performance metrics, trend analysis, and identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and experience. They will effectively build and maintain strong relationships with clients, as well as internal and external stakeholders.


Federal Program Manager Responsibilities

  • P&L responsibility for assigned contract(s).
  • Principle accountable leader for program execution and customer success, including responsiveness and engagement with key stakeholders.
  • Plan, direct, and evaluate all program activities to ensure the SOW and KPIs are effectively delivered.
  • Plans, monitors, and manages programs from implementation through termination of the contract.
  • Leads with influence and cultivates strong, collaborative relationships with internal staff, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. Oversees and manages contract budget(s).
  • Develop and maintain strategic long-term trusting relations with key accounts to accomplish growth and long-term company objectives.
  • Provide support, guidance, leadership, and motivation to promote maximum performance.
  • Support client relationships; build executive relationships; and support collaborative internal relationships.
  • Ensure the continued satisfaction and success of SGS’s high-profile clients by overseeing the work of the account team, anticipating client needs, working internally to ensure deadlines for client deliverables are met, and helping clients meet program goals.
  • Work with clinical management, SGS Managers, and team members from other business units dedicated to the same key client accounts to ensure successful delivery of the highest quality of services according to customer needs and objectives.
  • Work closely with the project team to maintain a continuous knowledge of project status in order to identify potential issues and/or opportunities within or related to the project.
  • Communicate the client's goals and represent the client's interests to the SGS project team.
  • Provide regular two-way communication between the client and the SGS team through updated written instructions, internal meetings, and meeting minutes, to provide strong team representation and set proper client expectations.
  • Is an effective team member; supports the team by pitching in at any level and effectively working across the organization to meet the needs of the business.

Federal Program Manager Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in business, health, or a related field is required.
  • Relevant Advanced Degree or requisite experience is strongly preferred
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP) or project management course work preferred
  • Minimum of 12 years of related experience to include account/project management for complex national health care programs
  • 10 years of recent supervisory experience and demonstrated leadership skills
  • 10 years of direct experience managing federal contracts
  • 10 years of experience in a relevant healthcare/health plan operations experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills
  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions with high-profile customers based on customer needs
  • Strong technical and regulatory knowledge preferred
