Staff Dispatcher (UPJ)



Job Summary

Serves as a campus switchboard operator and police dispatcher relaying messages and emergencies. Coordinates the activities of Security and Safety Officials and adheres to the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC's) regulations.


Essential Functions

Monitors and responds to all radio communications; dispatches calls for service; provides assistance, direction, and information via telephone and radio; enters all relevant data into the department’s records management system; provides assistance to the communication specialist as needed; performs special projects as needed which includes training other dispatchers.


Physical Effort

The successful candidate must manage multiple priorities and high stress situations and must sit stationary for significant periods of time.
