Overview
This position provides instructional support and project coordination for OCTRI’s Education and Career Development program, including support for the Human Investigations Program, an academic program including a certificate and Masters in Clinical Research. The position assists in the development and delivery of an academic curriculum of courses in the program in collaboration with course directors; and assesses the outcomes of students, trainees and graduates through tracking manuscripts, grants, and persistence in research. Duties and responsibilities include coordinating activities, including scheduling, promotion, and AV setup; assessment, and disseminating educational materials for research education courses; admissions and ongoing support for student and trainee participants; and tracking and evaluating trainee progress and outcomes.
Since the academic program serves a unique ‘student’ group of clinical and research faculty, fellows and graduates students at OHSU and partner instututions in a variety of departments and research areas, the candidate should have the ability to work with investigators from a wide variety of backgrounds with a problem solving approach and an understanding of their educational objectives in clinical and translational research.
Experience in medical research (preferably patient-oriented research) or graduate education and career development is preferred. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a history of self-motivated and detail-oriented work and/or research. Position distinguished by level of both independent and collaborative work with a small team, flexibility to complete multiple tasks and projects through various statges of development and implementation; ability to work effectively under pressure of multiple deadlines. Strong oral and written communication skills and commitment to exceptional customer service is required. Working knowledge of data management is required.
