Overview

The Oregon Stroke Center Research Nurse is responsible for initiation and maintenance of complex therapeutic interventional clinical research focused on vascular neurology. This position may assist with other studies for different neurological subspecialties.

Study coordination includes:

  • Act as study coordinator for select trials
  • Recruitment activities
  • Study assessments and patient visits
  • CRF documentation
  • Acute stroke call coverage for after-hours study enrollments
  • Maintain certificates as specified by each sponsor
  • Coordinating care for patients enrolled in multiple clinical research protocols
  • Monitoring study compliance relating to the human subjects committee, the federal government and study sponsors
  • Directly working with sponsors and monitors to ensure compliance with study protocols and reviewing deviations
  • Draw labs
  • Processing and shipping study specimens

Other non-study specific duties:

  • Providing clinical nurse support to one half day clinic
  • Assisting with stroke 7-day post-hospital calls
  • Escorting patients to other locations on OHSU campus

Research Nurse will cover the more complex and in-depth acute studies that require a nurse’s expertise in understanding documentation and reporting SAEs.

  • Current BLS certification
