Title: Program Specialist Senior Structure and Bridge State Role Title: Prog Admin Specialist III Hiring Range: $78,918 - $128,242 Pay Band: 6 Agency: VA Dept of Transportation Location: Staunton District Office Agency Website: www.jobs.virginia.gov Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties The Virginia Department of Transportation seeks a highly qualified Project Manager to join the Staunton District team. As the successful candidate, you will: • Plan, organize, monitor and direct all work activities and resources necessary for successful completion of assigned projects. • Provide oversight of project development, scheduling, estimating, funding and federal obligation for projects related to bridges and other transportation structures. • Apply project management philosophy to support technical aspects of the programmed scope, schedule and budgetary objectives of assigned projects. • Communicate with internal VDOT staff, local government staff, consultants, citizens and FHWA regarding transportation projects and programs. • Act as the Structure & Bridge section point of contact for problems or questions that arise during project construction. Minimum Qualifications • Experience in structural engineering, bridge safety inspection, bridge maintenance and repair. • Experience in bridge design including maintenance plans. • Considerable knowledge of the administration of bridge preservation and inspection related programs. • Skill in the use of computers and software applications to include Excel spreadsheet development. • Knowledge of project planning to include cost estimation and budgeting practices. • Demonstrated ability to provide technical expertise, guidance, support in bridge maintenance, repair and safety. • Ability to gather, analyze data, prepare statistical and narrative reports. Additional Considerations • Experience in the management of bridge projects. • A combination of training, experience or education in Civil Engineering or related field desired. • A combination of training, experience, or education in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field desired. • Experience administering a transportation program for bridge repair, maintenance and safety inspection. Experience in bridge design including maintenance plans. • Professional Engineer's license or Engineer in Training certification. • Experience in structural engineering, bridge safety inspection and bridge maintenance.
