ATA Services, Inc., is looking for an Executive Assistant for the Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living in Waterbury, VT. This position is entirely office-based (Waterbury, VT) and moves to full time on July 15, 2024.

Duration: We estimate this could take between 4 -12 weeks.

Schedule: We would like to have someone train with the current assistant for at least three days; July 8th, July 9th and July 10th . If they find it necessary to also train on the 11th and 12th, those days are available, but not required. The position would start full time on July 15th.

Hours: 8:00 am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, at the Waterbury State Office Complex. Pay Rate: $28/hour

Job Description

ExecutiveAssistant in a VT State Departmental legal unit. Supports two staff attorneys, the Department’s General Counsel, the legal unit as a whole, occasionally called on to support the Department’s Commissioner’s Office senior management or the Executive Assistant, and projects as assigned. Responsible for triaging and supporting the attorneys throughout legal appeals, reviews and grievances. Assist with legal cases, communicating, legal professionals, scheduling, gathering appropriate and necessary case documents, compiling those documents for production, distribution of materials. Create agendas, order supplies, be responsible for unit purchases and receipts, technological and administrative support for attorneys and General Counsel. This position is an Executive Assistant position in the Department’s Commissioner’s Office.

Includes written and verbal communication with consumers, other legal professionals, colleagues in other divisions, SOV community partners, other interested parties. Please be willing and able to read statute, rules, regulations, policies with a good level of comprehension and be able to apply as necessary.

Requires a high degree of confidentiality, the ability to work under pressure, the ability to handle competing priorities, must have excellent spoken and written communication skills and excellent organizational skills. Must be able to work well independently, be resourceful, skilled in Word, Excel, Teams. Have the willingness and aptitude to learn to maneuver in other miscellaneous applications and databases. Must have a high degree of accuracy, patience, professionalism.
