Position Summary:

The Fiscal Support Analyst is responsible for performing a wide variety of fiscal related tasks that are standard duties within the Accounts Payable department and for researching financial data and preparing reports. This position is governed by Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Process invoices for payments, print checks, and upload positive pay files to the bank on a daily basis.
  • Contact departments and/or vendors regarding discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders.
  • Determine applicable sales tax due on purchases.
  • Verify accuracy of wire transfers and ACH payments set up by the Treasurer's Office through online banking.
  • Prepare reports to review outstanding purchase orders and contact departments when receiving documents are still needed.
  • Coordinate with departments and Procurement when purchase orders need to be closed or updated.
  • Request stop payments and void checks as needed.
  • Assist with annual 1099 reporting.
  • Research stale dated checks and send through unclaimed property process if applicable.
  • Assist with year end closing process.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to faculty and staff.
  • Other duties as assigned


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Excellent customer service skills.
Knowledge of accounting principles and database management, software applications, applicable laws, regulations, and policies.

Ability to comprehend and assimilate technical and business related documents, apply policies and procedures and other applicable regulations.
Conduct research and prepare reports.

General Days/Hours:

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of an earned Bachelor's Degree in general business, finance, or a related field

Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee
