Overview

The primary purpose of the Payroll Technician I is to work as a member of the Payroll Team and ensure information is correctly entered and audited.



Responsibilities

  • Applies basic skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment appropriate to area of specialization
  • Duties and tasks are varied but standardized. Performs more advance functions. Resolves routine questions and problems; refers more complicated and complex issues to higher levels.
  • Works under readily available supervision and selects from a variety of established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.



Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills-(verbal, electronically, written),
  • Must be accurate, detail oriented, and organized
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Must have worked in an area requiring confidentiality
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Required: High School Diploma
  • Required: 0-2 years of payroll/accounting experience
  • Required: 0-4 years of customer service experience
  • Preferred: 0-1 years of transportation experience

Covenant’s compensation philosophy’s intent is to use a competitive total compensation strategy to determine the current market value of a position while also considering individual factors such as performance in current position, time in seat of current position, experience, level of responsibility/accountability, and longevity with the company. The system will be objective and non-discriminatory.
Pay Range: $32,640.10-$45,838.52
Pay Grade: 3
