Atlas is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our Finance Team as a Staff Accountant! The Staff Accountant ensures accurate financial reporting through detailed reconciliations, analysis of general ledger accounts, and preparation of adjusting entries. They manage daily banking activities, oversee accounts receivable and billing processes, and gather data for audits and special projects. Additionally, they support financial planning, budgeting, and cost analysis to aid strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed reconciliations and analyses of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Preparation of Adjusting Entries: Prepare and post adjusting journal entries to correct discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain and review accrual balances to ensure proper recording of expenses and liabilities.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial statements and conduct thorough analyses to provide insights into financial performance.
  • Manage and oversee daily banking activities, including deposits, withdrawals, and bank reconciliations.
  • Collect, compile, and analyze data for audits and other special projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with audit requirements.
  • Oversee the reporting and collection of accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Supervise and support the billing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in invoicing and revenue recognition.
  • Assist in the planning and budgeting process, conducting cost analyses to support strategic financial decision-making.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications



What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required to be successful in this role.
  • 2-4 years of job-related experience, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience are required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing payroll data.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with employees, management, and external agencies.
  • Critical thinking skills to resolve payroll discrepancies and issues efficiently.
  • Familiarity with accounting principles and practices.
