The Head of Product for ISS Market Intelligence (ISS MI) is an opportunity for an experienced product executive with a proven track record of developing globally distributed, data-centric product organizations to lead the development and execution of the ISS MI product vision, transforming our industry leading datasets into accessible, user-centric solutions with best-in-class capabilities. The Head of Product will lead and manage teams across ISS MI’s global operating footprint, including in the US, Canada, EMEA and APAC, and across our MarketPulse, MarketSage, MarketPro, and MarketReach product suites.
Overall Objectives
Collaborate with other ISS MI leaders to translate ISS MI’s strategic vision into actionable product plans, ensuring that our product strategy aligns with our overall goals and market needs and that each solution in our product suite is aligned with specific customer needs and competitive requirements
Own our overall product strategy and collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders and global cross-functional teams to ensure our success.
Own overall and solution-specific product roadmaps, with a balanced approach to innovation versus practical implementation, all guided by defined user needs, technical capabilities, and strategic priorities
Develop, analyze and prioritize new, innovative product features in line with our business and revenue goals, based on in-depth market, competitor and user research
Drive a product team culture that emphasizes data analysis, user feedback, and experimental insights to inform product decisions
Form a strong partnership with sales, marketing and customer success teams, providing detailed market, pricing and competitive analyses, product differentiation and positioning intelligence, and thorough product training collateral
Core Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Management
Lead the end-to-end lifecycle for our product portfolio
Launch new products internally and externally, closely aligned with all relevant stakeholders.
Work closely with other ISS leaders on innovation projects, expediting time-to-market for new products and ensuring that enhancements to our products are prioritized appropriately
Develop a deep understanding of current and future customer needs and industry trends
Evaluate the product portfolio and take proactive measures to address areas needing improvement
Proactively assess and mitigate risks within our products and their respective teams
Team Leadership
Provide leadership and coaching to product managers, guiding them towards achieving team objectives and supporting their professional development
Cultivate a positive and inclusive culture by collaborating closely with peers, encouraging open and transparent communication
Ensure close collaboration and consistent communication within the product team and with all stakeholders across ISS, in particular building strong relationships with data operations and development teams that are critical to the success of our products
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team skills and methodologies
Required Skills and Behaviors, Experience
10+ years in product management, with a history of successful product launches and lifecycle management for SaaS-based data and analytics solutions; B2B solutions with integrations into leading CRM platforms preferred
Significant experience and expertise in B2B asset management, wealth management, and insurance markets, with focus on investment product development, distribution and marketing
Proven track record of leading teams in larger global organizations (500-5000+), with a demonstrated ability to act has an executive leader who can mentor, inspire, and drive high levels of performance and innovation across multiple layers of managers and individual contributors, while also diving deep into execution when necessary
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with history of driving decisions based on data, market research, and user feedback, while also demonstrating comfort when there is limited information
A strong emphasis on user experience and design thinking, with experience in user research, feedback loops, and usability testing
Proficiency in commercial analysis and business case development
Ability to develop and maintain key internal and external relationships, along with informal networks.
Strong coaching aptitude in product management tasks and methods
Strong organization and time management skills
Polished communication skills – verbal, written, formal presentations
Ability to engage effectively and build relationships at multiple levels of an organization
Dedication to developing subject matter expertise on core market, competitors, product offerings
This role is being recruited in New York City.
Base salary: The New York City expected base pay range is $275,000 - 350,000 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and level of education.
