The base hourly rate for this position is $31.06

Johns Manville, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is a leading manufacturer and marketer of premium-quality building insulation, commercial roofing, roof insulation, and specialty products for commercial, industrial and residential applications. JM’s product offerings include: Formaldehyde-free™ fiber glass building insulation, commercial roofing membranes and roof insulations, filtration media, and mats and reinforcements.


Johns Manville is currently seeking candidates for the position of Mechanic Journeyman to be located in Rockdale, IL. The Rockdale, IL facility manufactures perlite roof insulation board which is a rigid insulation for built up commercial roofs.

We offer an hourly rate of $31.06 an hour. We offer a competitive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision and 401K.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to experience with diagnostics, ovens, conveyors, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, wiring, welding, and pipefitting.

Ability to perform most routine preventative maintenance as related to basic wiring, motor control, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

Ability to respond to production issues and handle maintenance work orders

Basic fabrication skills and welding are required. An understanding of machinery and equipment related to industrial manufacturing is required.

Must have a general assortment of hand tools and know the use of other tools and equipment common to maintenance work.

Uses safe working practices and reports hazardous conditions at all times.

Assists in production line(s) changeover and setup.

REQUIREMENTS:

Experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Computer Literate (SAP knowledge is a plus)

Ability to stay organized and meet deadlines

Proven history of safe practices, working knowledge of lock out/tag out procedures

Troubleshooting experience with a PLC

Ability to work independently especially during the night and evening shifts.

Solid electrical, mechanical, math, and problem-solving skills

Local candidate that is within 30 miles of the Rockdale facility to be available for any type of emergency situation.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education Requirements are based off of level of education and experience. Please apply if you meet or exceed any of the below requirements.

High school degree with four years of strong industrial experience in mechanical/electrical repairs
