Responsibilities

The Supervisor, Human Resources, helps lead day-to-day Human Resources team functions and manages the implementation and administration of policies, programs and procedures to maintain organizational effectiveness and enhance the Company’s ability to achieve its growth and profitability objectives.

  • Assist with managing the effective implementation of HR initiatives, policies and procedures, including compliance, employee onboarding and exiting, performance management, training, compensation, and affirmative action planning.
  • Assist HR team direct reports with daily responsibilities as needed, such as new hire onboarding, internal changes, and offboarding tasks.
  • Assist with evaluating best practices in sourcing, recruitment, hiring, orientation, succession planning, retention, and organizational exit programs to ensure the workforce’s ability to achieve the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate the status and productivity of HR programs and recommend changes to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Assist with decisions relating to hiring, terminating, compensation, and performance evaluation.
  • Manage, train, develop, and direct Human Resource staff.
  • Manage the HR team’s time-off requests and entering approved time-off in the company’s time keeping system.
  • Assist HR Vice President with ensuring HR team processes are efficient.
  • Ensure the HR team follows policies and processes precisely and completes responsibilities timely.
  • Helps create and maintain HR team user guides.
  • Assist HR team with their questions and concerns, and/or escalated situations.
  • Assists with creating job descriptions as well as researching market payrates and updating pay bands as directed.
  • Pay close attention to trends and developments in the HR field, briefing the HR Vice President, on those that may impact EFW.
  • Responsible for initiating the performance management evaluation process for the company.
  • Assist with training company leaders in a variety of areas including company policy and other legal requirements, hiring, performance management, employee training and development, and dealing with organizational change.
  • Periodically travel to attend career fairs or visit other company locations when requested.
  • Assist with leading investigations and interpreting employee concerns, providing advice and methodology for problem solving.
  • Help manage the company’s applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Assist with updating HR content on the company’s intranet.
  • Help promptly investigate and resolve any allegations or issues; recommend or implement disciplinary actions when such steps are necessary based upon investigation results.
  • Help conduct investigations regarding discrimination and unfair employment practices, including, but not limited to, those involving federal and state agency charges.
  • Manage the administration of all HR recordkeeping, including personnel files, medical files, the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and certain Payroll functions that are company level responsibilities.
  • Assist with HR communication programs within the organization. Oversee preparation of internal employee communications regarding company performance, future direction, corporate or human resources policies, and employee appreciation or community outreach events. Ensure accuracy and timelines of information distributed.
  • Participate in regular meetings with VPs, Directors, and Regional Managers.
  • Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications



Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 5 years of experience. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.

Position functions semi-autonomously and directly supervises 2-10 employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Periodic travel up to 15% required.

Typically sitting at a desk or table. Intermittently sitting, standing, walking, or stooping. The employee may periodically drive their personal or company car when travelling.

Normal office situation.

  • Must possess knowledge of Microsoft Office, internet, web-based, and job specific software applications required.
  • Must thoroughly understand company policies, procedures, and HR systems.
  • Must possess above average interpersonal skills to interface and counsel employees and supervisors.
  • Must be able to travel via train, air or car to career fairs and other company locations when requested.
  • Proven competence to communicate clearly and persuasively with all levels of an organization required.
  • Must maintain good communication and a positive relationship with employees to promote employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Proven ability to handle difficult conversations required. Honest, sincere, and consistent.
  • Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projects and set priorities.
  • Must possess a thorough understanding of and experience in working with government agencies, regulations and laws (FMLA, OFCCP, FLSA, EEOC, DOL, OHSA, NLRB, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret comprehensive and intricate research documents.
  • Ability to write scientific reports and technical correspondence.
  • Ability to work with executives and communicate abstract concepts.
  • Ability to present to a high level of the organization and groups outside of the organization.
  • Ability to solve problems with complex variables through non-standardized solutions that require independent judgment and analysis.
  • Ability to draw inferences and use deductive reasoning with no prescribed procedures to solve complex problems.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check.
