Position Objective:

Responsible for management of the Engineered Solutions Business. Areas of responsibility include meeting financial, schedule, technical, quality and customer satisfaction goals while aggressively pursuing business growth.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage team of direct report personnel comprising contractual, program management, technical and other related functions
  • Interface with other support groups management personnel as necessary to ensure successful business results
  • Evaluate program performance; achieve cost/profit objectives while meeting contractual objectives for product definition, quality, delivery, and schedule
  • Actively pursue new business to ensure continued growth
  • Approve, review, direct or participate in the preparation of bids and change orders
  • Participate in technical briefings/ negotiations with customers
  • Review and ensure update of job status, schedule, sales, cost and profit
  • Ensure organization meets its contractual obligations
  • Serve as program manager where required and serve as back up to other Program Managers
  • Prepare detailed sales forecasts and ensure monthly yearly goals are achieved
  • Establish plans and priorities for timely accomplishment of customer requirements, coordinating with both customer and plant personnel
  • Provide weekly and quarterly reports to the President and associated reports highlighting program status, risk areas and opportunities
  • Establish annual performance goals and conduct performance reviews and recommended salary adjustments for direct reports and others as requested. Hires, fires, and reviews performance for direct reports

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Economics or a related field of study required; MBA preferred

Six Sigma and/ or Lean Certification preferred

Experience:

Minimum of 10 years in engineering management experience required; at least 5 of those years should be managing government contracts

Demonstrated business acumen

Self-directed and proficient with time and project management

Demonstrated leadership and conflict resolution capabilities

Demonstrated ability to create and sustain processes, systems, protocols

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Excellent presentation skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Proficient in ERP (Oracle, SAP, JDE, Syteline, or other) systems

Ability to adapt/ adjust to new technologies and methods

Locations with U.S. Government Programs:

Must be able to access shared database with government programs (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident of the U.S.)

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE:

The Director of Programs, Engineered Solutions is responsible for the success of the Engineered Solutions business. Communication with internal and external partners is critical in this role. The incumbent in this role is the subject matter expert and advises the President of progress, impediments, and any corrective actions taken. The Director of Programs maintains a wide latitude of discretion and is the steward of a significant financial strategy for the Company.
