Job Description Job Description Reporting to the Director of Quality Assurance, the Quality Assurance Manager is primarily responsible for ensuring that concrete products plants are consistent in achieving and maintaining company Quality standards at the assigned concrete products production facility or facilities. This includes direct involvement and management of concrete technology, plant standards, efficiency reporting, training and development. RESPONSIBILITIES Review all current concrete products mix designs and ensure compliance with M curve requirements, ASTM/CSA standards, etc. This includes but is not limited to Evaluation of concrete products raw materials as received by the facility Communication with suppliers in the event of materials being out of target Ensuring Production is achieving targets during the manufacturing Review all proposed changes to mix designs from local Plant Management, and obtain approval from the Director of Quality Assurance prior to implementation. Review compliance with the company’s Total Quality Management Provide training to all Operators, Supervisors and Plant This includes Concrete Technology, Total Quality Management program, as well as proper machine set up and operation. Implementation of process improvements to maximize Quality and efficiency ofAssist as required by the Director of Quality Assurance in the development of new products and processes to further enhance the line of products. Coordinate with Sales and Plant Management for new colors and finishes, ensuring the Plant has the ability to manufacture requested finish and evaluation of any special aggregates required. Manage admixture production (If applicable), ensuring raw materials are available and in compliance with specifications. Review of production results including solids, pH, and viscosity if Corrective action to be determined with the Director of Quality Assurance in the event of a non-compliant production run. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline (Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering) or equivalent work history Concrete products manufacturing experience; well versed in mix design optimization and testing procedures ACI/PCI/MCPX or equivalent certification 5-7 years of supervisory experience in a concrete products manufacturing setting, preferably concrete block or paver production Experience in a manufacturing environment and quality control Must have excellent Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Math skills (including unit conversions and algebra) Report writing skills Excellent communication skills Ability to lift 40 Willingness to travel Company Description United Employment Group, Inc. is a search and placement firm specializing in Concrete Products and Construction, Metals, Refrigeration, Engineering/Surveying and Plastic Industries.
