Overview

The OHSU Clinical registered nurse (RN) provides compassionate, evidence-based, and efficient care to individuals, families, communities and patient populations. Department Specific Working Conditions:

  • Ability to stand up to 6 hours without sitting
  • Fast paced admit/recovery environment, with often competing priorities and quick turn-over of patients
  • Must have the ability to change work location based upon procedure volumes and staffing needs
  • Requires the ability to ride the Arial tram throughout the day
  • Requires the ability to tolerate moving throughout entire shift
  • Requires the flexibility to stay focused and have your assignment changed several times throughout your shift
  • Requires after hours call

Responsibilities

  • Current, unencumbered Oregon RN license
  • Current BLS required at time of hire
  • BLS must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • BLS must not expire during orientation or probation period, and must have the same expiration date (upload documentation with online application)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing for external hires; BSN preferred to internal candidates
  • Minimum 2 year Critical Care, ED, Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, or Cardiac Catheterization Lab experience
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation


Qualifications



  • Experience with caring for patients undergoing procedures and associated complications
  • Knowledge/experience related to RN administered moderate sedation
  • Experience as a Charge RN in a related setting
  • Experience as a member of a Shared Governance council or committee
