Job Description Job Description Position Purpose Lead a team that is tasked with effectively communicating with Tri-County Electric Cooperative's (TCEC) members, employees, and community partners. Job Dimensions Internal Responsibility - Provide leadership to the TCEC Communications team and provide strategies and support for all departmental and all-employee communication. External Responsibility - Accountable for all external TCEC messaging and strategy including but not limited to the TCEC website, social media, monthly magazine, monthly newsletter, bill inserts, bill presentation, and all "ink" from TCEC - whether electronic or paper. Maintain effective relationships with media outlets while coordinating media inquiries. Principal Accountabilities Consistently demonstrate the appropriate leadership principles from Leadership Landmines: 8 management catastrophes and how to avoid them. Model the TCEC Essential Attributes as a regular pattern of behavior and self-awareness. Manage projects and processes while leading people. Provide regular feedback to Communications teammates for both performance and behavior. Consistently create timelines conducive to exceeding deadline expectations. Oversee and participate in the creation of high quality internal and external message content ensuring communication materials are completed and distributed in an accurate, professional, and timely manner. Oversee the planning, content development, and design of web-based and digital/multi-media communications. Coordinate events, board elections, and media contacts. Manage communication strategy and budget. Develop and maintain cooperative brand standards. Minimum Requirements Education - A bachelor's degree in communications or a comparable field is required. Experience - A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in communications, marketing, or public relations is required. Supervisory and electric utility experience is preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Must maintain ongoing education that supports the Cooperative's goals. Knowledge and work experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written and ability to deal with a variety of internal and external contacts. Ability to stand, and walk; frequently sit, bend, stoop, squat, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds; push and/or pull; reach above shoulder level; and twist; to climb, balance, kneel, crouch.
