Employee Type: RegularThis position leads the effort in developing data collection systems, compiling and analyzing data for process improvements such as productivities and efficiencies, and streamlining current databases inputs and outputs. Additionally, this position provides engineering or technical support to the operating mines as requested.
Job Description:
Essential Duties:
Complete or provide assistance in the calculation of production and costs for existing mining projects
Develop and maintain in-house productivity and financial analysis programs
Utilize AutoCAD/Carlson to develop mine plans
Complete or provide assistance in the analysis and production estimation of equipment systems to be utilized in new or existing mining projects
Other Duties:
Assist in the evaluation of equipment and the development of specifications for equipment to be purchased for new or existing projects
Provide engineering and technical assistance as directed by the Engineering Manager including surveying and other duties
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of surface mining operations, including blast design, dragline cross sections, equipment operating and production characteristics, and safety and environmental regulations
Strong knowledge of engineering principles; working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, SQL databases, AutoCAD, and additional programming languages. Heavy emphasis on PowerBI
Ability to communicate engineering/technical related information effectively, verbally and in writing
Ability to work both independently and as a team member to complete projects in a timely and professional manner
Ability to work comfortably at a mine site and travel to sites across Florida and outside of Florida
Education, Training and Experience:
Minimum bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mining
Minimum 2-3 years’ related work experience
Ability to obtain a drone pilot license
