Product Development Engineer II - Military veterans preferred

Crane Currency has an immediate position opening for a Product Development Engineer II. Based in Malta.

How you will make an impact:

As a Product Development Engineer II, you will carry out and document literature research on banknote features and come up with ideas to improve the market’s status quo. You will be able to conceive, pitch, and lead innovative ideas through the Malta facility. Assist global R&D colleagues to validate new products on commercial equipment and establish process conditions to ensure high and consistent product yield, while working with both scientists, engineers and the project manager in ensuring that product design requirements are not compromised and deadlines are met.

• Generate Innovation Funnel for Malta Print and execute small projects.
• Develop expertise in troubleshooting foil and surface application machines.
• Enhance technical knowledge of foil lamination and banknote printing techniques to drive process improvement and innovation through print capabilities to enhance Crane Currency’s competitive differentiation.
• Ensure thorough documentation of data and use it to guide the scientists and project manager through the next steps of the project.
• Coordination with NPD Scientists, local Process Engineers and Project Manager.
• Travel to third-party partner sites and other Crane sites.

Knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

Required:

• Bachelor’s in Engineering, Science or related discipline
• 5+ years experience in operations after university

Preferred:

• Experience in printing and laminating operations
• Experience with security inks/features for security documents
• Experience in new product development within a manufacturing setting
• 3+ years experience in research and development
