Summary

Directs personnel and daily operational activities within the Distribution Center. Supports and advances the larger strategic goals of the DC by ensuring the efficient processing of workflow and achieving key process and operational cost improvements in accordance with established company policies and procedures. Fosters a safe team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Drives compliance with safety, quality, and productivity goals in support of warehouse leadership team objectives
  • Serves as the Distribution Operations Subject Matter Expert rotating, flexing, and training employees on each aspect of the warehouse / distribution processes (Freight, Returns, Receiving, Restock and Transfers)
  • Defines and applies cross training needs in all warehouse team functions to support customer demand and satisfaction
  • Accountable for prioritizing the work of the DC Specialists to attain department goals and meet changing business needs.
  • Keenly understands DC operational goals, identifies gaps, and recommends continuous process improvement solutions. Actively assists with CI implementation
  • Collaborates cross-functionally across departments and business units to optimize distribution processes
  • Other related duties

Requirements

3+ years of supervisory experience in distribution operations

High School Diploma or equivalency required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Other Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

  • Takes active ownership of DC daily operations and displays enthusiasm for leadership activities
  • Experience with process improvement and driving change.
  • Ability to analyze data (Pareto methodology) and make well-supported recommendations
  • Knowledge of functional operations (order flow, 5S, receiving, warehouse, replenishment, and expense management) and ability to apply structured problem-solving methodology (I.E: 5 Why, Pareto’s, PDCA) to identified gaps.
  • Ability to partner with others within the Ellsworth distribution networks to align continuous improvement plans.
