Job Summary:

ITS has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Systems Engineer providing support to the 461st Air Control Networks Squadron (461 ACNS) in Robins AFB, Georgia. These services are required to connect, secure, and defend the Digital Infrastructure supporting the Combat Air Force’s Command, Control, and Battle Management capabilities across the globe – anytime, anywhere. These services include building digital and physical infrastructure to support current and growing Battle Management Control Squadron (BMCS) mission to ensure successful implementation of BCC “Kingpin” Network & Systems from Shaw AFB to Robins AFB. This infrastructure support includes new initiatives to bring Cloud Based Command and Control (CBC2) to the Tactical Operations Center (TOC). These services may also include future services to bring Cloud-Based Command and Control software to the local campus to mature Battle Control Center (BCC) development within the Theater Air Control System (TACS).

Key Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Build Digital and Physical Infrastructure to support current and growing BMCS mission needs
  • Develop & integrate Cloud Based Command and Control (CBC2) capabilities into the Tactical Operations Center (TOC)
  • Take initiative to bring CBC2 software to the local campus to mature BCC development within the TACS. Leverage these agile CBC2 capabilities and processes to migrate
  • legacy systems from traditional system architectures and development practices to agile processes
  • Ensure successful implementation of BCC “Kingpin” Network & Systems from Shaw to Robins AFB
  • Assess current Kingpin systems architecture and infrastructure at Shaw AFB and support the design and development of similar architecture and infrastructure at Robins AFB
  • Analyze user requirements, system requirements specifications, system architecture, and provide systems engineering expertise
  • Develop system architecture and system design documentation
  • Provide direction and leadership to other engineers and technical experts for system development and implementation planning
  • Assess system requirement documents and ensures all customer requirements are met
  • Provide systems engineering support for design, development, integration, test, and verification of highly complex mission-critical systems
  • Translate operational requirements and user needs into functional and technical specifications and develop requirements traceability matrices
  • Develop, maintain, and track design baselines through configuration control measures.
  • Participate in informal and formal design and engineering reviews
  • Conduct risk assessments and analyses of alternatives for system components and system design considerations
  • Incorporate cybersecurity considerations into system design
  • Adhere to Department of Defense (DoD), US Air Force (USAF), and other industry standards and best practices
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders to generate component and system specifications
  • Define hardware and software interfaces between systems and subsystems
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance for engineering team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 (10+) years’ experience working as an engineer for DoD/Military
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience leading engineering effort on large scale DoD/MILCON programs
  • Experience with design of Operations Centers/Command Centers.
  • Experience with Command and Control (C2) systems for the US Air Force
  • Experience with Secure Computing Environments and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure.
  • Expertise in MS Office applications and MS Visio. Experience with MBSE Tools (e.g. MagicDraw) is a plus
  • Strong leadership, technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team made up of other engineers and technical experts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willing and able to travel between Shaw AFB and Robins AFB up to 25% of the time

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related Engineering discipline. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Must have a current Security+ CE certification (IAT Level II certification)

Clearance Requirement:

  • Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility

Salary Note:
