BWX Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking a strategic HR Business Partner for its Barberton, OH location We are looking for a Labor Relations-focused HR Business Partner to join our ambitious Human Resources dream team If you are passionate about labor relations and would like to contribute to creating a great company culture, this is the right position for you. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Provides daily Human Resources support to the workforce through employee engagement on the shop floor. Responds to questions and inquires in a timely manner and works to resolve concerns as soon as identified. Union - Develops and maintains a working relationship with the bargaining unit and its representatives to create an atmosphere favorable to problem solving. Advises employees and managers on interpretation of collective bargaining agreement (CBA), policies, guidelines, procedures, laws, and other government regulations. Consults with management daily to identify and resolve performance and work environment concerns in the areas of employee relations. Trains operational leaders on the implementation of the CBA. Completes employee relations investigations with a focus on the facts of the situation, legal and policy compliance, and prompt resolution. Assists with employee events, benefits enrollment, policy training, organization-wide meetings, career fairs, employee recognition events. Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of employee files and records. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a closely related field. 10 years of progressive human resources experience including experience in the areas of labor relations and employment law compliance. Recent hands-on union/cba experience in a manufacturing environment Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance. Ability to report to our office location in Barberton, Ohio. This is a fully onsite position. Job Qualifications/Requirements: Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service while ensuring legal and policy compliance. Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to effectively balance multiple competing priorities. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and to work collaboratively with cross functional teams. Demonstrable intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite’s Outlook, PPT and Word. Advanced proficiency level in Excel to produce business reporting. This position supports a safety and quality driven, 24-7 manufacturing operation and requires the ability and availability to work the occasional adjusted schedule. Variations to normal work hours may include but are not limited to, support of early morning meetings, engagement with the shop floor during 2nd shift evening operations, scheduled plant initiatives, unplanned after-hours investigations and pre-planned weekend employee events.
