Laminator Assistant Operator- 1st shift: 7:00am to 3:00 pm
Hourly Pay: $19.20

About this opportunity:

The Laminator Assistant Operator supports and assists the Laminator Operator in the successful setup and run of the laminating machine to produce multi-ply structures of laminated material. In addition, He/She carries out assigned tasks to stage materials, perform setups and changeovers, replenish materials/supplies, perform quality checks and capture production data.

What you will do:

  • Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable PPE and Food Safety policies and procedures, wear steel tipped shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets, safety gloves etc.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area free from hazards.
  • Along with the assigned team, ensures all required materials, tools, and supplies are staged and ready for production.
  • Carries out assigned tasks in performing job setups and changeovers from start to completion; ensuring optimal efficiency and accuracy while minimizing waste (time & material).
    • Assemble and maintain doctor blades.
    • Start adhesive flow and wash down.
    • Start coating flow and wash down.
    • Install and remove Anilox cylinders.
    • Care, clean, change, impression sleeves and transfer rollers.
    • Ensure care for machine parts, tools, cleaning and changing of impression sleeves.
    • Load/setup raw material to Laminator to the job specifications.
    • Prepare/dispose of adhesives and solvents per protocol.
    • Track and record material usage.
    • Inspect print quality and report to operator any potential defects.
    • Inspect adhesive and laminate quality and communicate possible problems.
  • Prepare/entry of daily productions reports as required.
  • Train and coach Laminator helper on performance of tasks.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and correcting problems affecting machine performance, quality, waste, and throughput.
  • Ensure care and maintenance of equipment and performs assigned preventative maintenance.
  • Retrieve materials, tools, and supplies as needed.
  • Remove material waste/scrap to designated compactor.
  • Perform other related work as assigned.

What you have to offer:

  • Reading and writing skills corresponding to the level of High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Intermediate Level – Previous experience as a Laminator Helper or other Flexible Packaging manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to read a ruler.
  • Ability to read job orders and specifications written in English.
  • Ability to perform calculations involving decimals and fractions.
  • Ability to operate a stop watch.
  • Ability to use hand tools, such as wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.
  • Customer Oriented.
  • Motivated and collaborative within a team environment
  • Must be able to problem solve and communicate effectively.

Compensation:

The compensation and reference to benefits for this role is listed on this posting in compliance with applicable law. The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on experience, and qualifications. Please note that the compensation and benefits listed below are only applicable to successful candidates who are hired onto local United States payroll.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $19.20 per hour.
