Job Summary
The University of Kentucky, College of Health Sciences, Department of Athletic Training and Clinical Nutrition is seeking a full-time (12-months) non-tenure eligible, Research Title faculty member at the assistant professor rank, to begin employment on July/August 1, 2024.

The College of Health Sciences, Department of Athletic Training and Clinical Nutrition is seeking a motivated individual who can contribute to an ongoing research agenda of the Equestrian Athlete Research Initiative (EqA) in the Sports Medicine Research Institute (SMRI). Strong research and active community engagement efforts are expected with a multidisciplinary approach dedicated to the investigation of musculoskeletal injury, health, and performance of equestrian athletes. The primary obligations of this position are to current projects and objectives of EqA and development of new projects in line with a research agenda aligned with the mission of the SMRI.

The person in this position must have a Ph.D. in exercise science, sports medicine, rehabilitation, or a closely related field. Additionally, this person should have experience in leading community based, field, and laboratory research in equestrian athletes from a variety of discipline and activity levels including professional race riders and riders of all ages. This person will be expected to assist in fulfilling the research objectives of the Department of Athletic Training and Clinical Nutrition, to collaborate with other departmental and college faculty, and to provide mentorship to other research personnel including students, graduate student researchers, postdocs, and staff of the Sports Medicine Research Institute. This position will be a 12-month appointment with the option to renew contingent upon review and funding. The anticipated effort for this position is 95% Research/Scholarship and 5% Service.
