Over the past five years, Buddy’s has aggressively expanded its footprint by adding new company-owned and franchised stores outside of its home area. Currently, Buddy’s has more than 300 locations operating in the U.S. and Guam. The Company plans to continue this rapid growth over the next several years by opening new company-owned stores, acquiring independently operated RTO stores and franchising stores. A Manager In Training (MIT) is brought into the organization with the sole intent of being trained and prepared for a future management role within the company. Salary: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour Principal Responsibilities Acquire and Maintain Customers through Sales, In-Home Delivery, Customer Service and Account Management Compliance with all applicable Federal, State and Local laws Meeting company standards for quality, customer service and safety Meeting customer accounts, store sales, store revenue and profit goals Support customer growth through internal and external marketing Ensure a safe, clean, and pleasant store environment for customers and associates Train to become competent in all aspects of the business All other duties deemed necessary for effective store management The MIT will train on the following concepts to become competent Store Sales Customer Accounts Customer Service In-Home Delivery Understanding of the company Operations Manual Analyze and review store financial statements and reports to ensure optimal store performance Inventory Management Managing and securing company assets via the Store Audit process Marketing Store Vehicle Management Preparation of daily work schedules, assigning tasks, evaluating employee performance, handling performance issues and enforcement of company policy Recruiting, hiring, and training to ensure efficient operations Setting goals and conducting weekly staff meetings Prior experience as sales associate, sales agent, rental agent, account executive, account manager, account collection, rent to own, home furnishings, furniture, electronics, appliances sales at one of the following brands is very helpful to the success at this job: Buddy's Home Furnishings, Rent a Center, Cort, Wayfair, Aaron's, Ace, City Furniture, Costco, Best Buy Requirements/Responsibilities Qualifications Useful Skills for a Manager In Training Effective organizational skills Good communication skills Ability to multi-task Desire and passion for learning Competitive Spirit Ability to negotiate and resolve conflict Ability to plan, organize, delegate, coordinate and follow up various tasks Ability to recognize and solve problems Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED General Physical Requirements Position routinely requires lifting, loading, moving, and using a dolly for merchandise 50-300 pounds Stooping, bending, pulling, reaching, and grabbing Must be able to traverse multiple flights of stairs while carrying furniture, appliances, and electronics Prolonged driving and standing Must be able to work in and outdoors in a variety of climates and weather conditions Insurance Requires MIT be at least age 21 to drive vehicle for work Prior experience as sales associate, sales agent, rental agent, account executive, account manager, account collection, rent to own, home furnishings, furniture, electronics, appliances sales at one of the following brands is very helpful to the success at this job: Buddy's Home Furnishings, Rent a Center, Cort, Wayfair, Aaron's, Ace, City Furniture, Costco, Best Buy Buddy's Home Furnishings is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug Free Workplace.
