POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Corporate Communications will oversee all communications involving the organization including the development and implementation of a communications strategy which will include a broad and diverse range of business and marketing communications. The Director is responsible for driving and overseeing AtlantiCare's communications efforts to internal audiences, external audiences as well as media. Director will be in charge of producing high-quality content that engages customers and builds brand recognition and ensures the appropriate communication strategies, channels and tactics are in place, and manages internal& external resources to implement the plans. Duties will also include creating informative content written as well as audio/video, press releases, articles, and media opportunities to share our company's brand, service line programs and services.



The role is responsible for ensuring that strategic messages as well as important news and information reach internal, external and media outlets. The Director will be responsible for managing media relations and public affairs and work closely with department leadership and executive leadership to develop an overarching message platform and creating campaign/initiative-specific messaging.



The Director will lead the development of content for internal (such as staff, physicians, Board members, volunteers, etc.) and external audiences (community at large, media outlets). The role will guide and direct internal team members and/or external agencies to ensure that work is completed in a timely, cost effective, and efficient and audience appropriate manner.



The position will have oversight for the channel strategy (including the intranet, any internal publications and executive communications) and will work in partnership with the Director of Marketing Services to leverage vehicles and opportunities through communications and public/media relations to promote AtlantiCare's programs and services.



QUALIFICATIONS



EDUCATION: Master's Degree in business, marketing or related field required.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
EXPERIENCE: 8-10 years' experience in communications, journalism and/or public relations required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong project management, interpersonal, organizational, communication and presentation skills required. Proficiency with computer applications is required. Must be able to multitask and work well under pressure. Strong supervisory experience required. Public Relations experience required. Healthcare experience preferred.



PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires some walking/standing and may have prolonged period of sitting. Works with such equipment as computer terminal, fax machine, printer, telephone and copier. Position requires frequent travel, flexibility of hours including weekends, evenings, and on-call coverage as well as lifting up to 20 lbs. Essential functions of this position are listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
