Qualifications



RS&H is currently seeking a Senior Principal Traffic/ITS Engineer to join our team in the Moving I-4 Forward Program Office in Celebration, FL. As part of the infrastructure team, you'll serve an integral role in the firm by serving as a discipline leader, subject matter expert, and technical resource for discipline and related program activities, including active participation in discipline quality improvement and assurance activities and managing unique problems that are abstract in nature and span across disciplines and/or businesses. This position will define project elements and processes required to meet client needs, along with participating in and coordinating preparation of bids and promoting and maintaining client relationships; oversee performance to contracts through shared planning and monitoring of work orders and deliverables with engineering, construction, and various other disciplines; lead projects, including major projects with complex elements and a broad scope of responsibilities; coordinate with project management to execute project plans and directly supervise the teams' design and technical delivery; promote and maintain client relationships through all project phases, including presenting directly to the client on technical and design solutions; recommend and implement strategies in support of long-term goals and objectives; serve as a thought leader inside and outside the firm; and lead the development and application of standard operating procedures and technical requirements for projects and discipline deliverables. This position may also manage a small team of direct reports.

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Have a degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program and 20 years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Be a professional engineer in good standing.
  • Be knowledgeable of applicable federal, state and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances.
  • Be proficient in production software and construction document production.
  • Have proven background and ability to make decisions that have significant impact to an organization, as well as recommend operational strategies and plans with direct impact on results.
  • Be recognized as a thought leader in the industry and have experience leading the development and implementation of new services, processes, standards, or operational plans with significant impact on the achievement of results.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to communicate with senior leadership on matters of strategic importance.
  • Have the ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, team members, and other key stakeholders.
