The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences in the School of Medicine is seeking a Visiting Faculty Scholar to work at the Magee-Womens Research Institute. Magee-Womens Research Institute (MWRI) is an independent research institute and one of the largest in the nation that focuses on reproductive biology, and women's and infants' health. Since its inception in 1992, MWRI has been a leader in funding from the National Institute of Health (NIH) and other sources. Opportunities are available to work with members of MWRI on specific research projects.

The candidate's research focus will be to understand the impact of diabetes and hyperglycemic memory on innate immune cells by using multidisciplinary approaches including flow cytometry and cell sorting, omics technologies, multiplex
analyses, immunohistology, and biochemical analyses. The candidate will be expected to perform independent studies,
fellowship training and participate in public speaking, manuscript writing, and presentations.

Qualifications:

  • PhD or DVM/CVM required
  • Knowledge of Real-time PCR, Western Blot, Confocal, Microscopy, Transmission Electron Microscopy
  • Experience in Scanning Electron Microscope, HPLC research, and LC-MS/MS analysis
  • Training junior fellows in the lab
