The standard hours are 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday-Friday, with overtime, as needed. Starting pay is $18.74 per hour with $1.25 per hour shift premium. Position Summary of Quality Assurance Inspector:

Inspects bearings, packages and transports units to Mainline Assembly racking area. In shipping audits pallets for PDC's.

Responsibilities

Quality Inspector Responsibilities:

1. Performs inspection functions as directed by manager. Packages and labels parts.

  • Collects parts and prepares them for inspection.
  • Performs quality checks

2. Packages and prepares units to be used in Mainline Assembly.

  • Attaches all identifying labels and serial numbers.
  • Boxes finished bearings and packs boxes per standard operating procedure.
  • Uses hand cart/material or forklift handling equipment to move finished goods to the assembly line shipping area and places in proper location.

3. Exhibits and performs basic personal computer functions in various software systems, including but not limited to:

  • Using the business operating system, to check work queues, inventory levels, and other production related tasks.
  • Using the Horton “intranet” to access quality information, safety information, and other production related information.
  • Records amounts of bearings inspected and moved into the WMS system for proper inventory tracking.
  • Accesses LPN's and converts to excel spreadsheet.
  • Communicates by email as necessary.

4. Uses a printer to print labels

5. Works with shipping to verify that Horton label and customer label match. Also verifies quantities, part numbers, etc. Timeliness is critical.

6. 5S duties on a routine basis

7. Performs other duties as directed by manager



Qualifications



Basic business system, Communication skills, general computer, basic inspection, basic math, IATF overview, packing skills, material handling skills. Must be able to use a forklift and pass the course to receive a forklift license.

Must have legal authorization to work in the United States. Relocation allowance may be provided if the individual has all of the necessary qualifications.
