Job Details Level: Experienced Job Location: New York - Brooklyn, NY Position Type: Full Time Education Level: 4 Year Degree Salary Range: Undisclosed Job Description The Specialist - Inventory Control is responsible for independently overseeing inventory levels by placing orders to transfer products daily from other Acme warehouses, guided by open sales orders and forecasted sales. This will include receiving, storing, tracking, and ensuring the accuracy of inventory records and levels while reducing stock discrepancies and enhancing operational efficiency. Additionally, this role involves ordering finished goods resale items from suppliers, assisting with quarterly inventory counts, and performing other tasks as required to support efficient inventory management. What You Will Do At Acme: Review open sales orders and forecasted sales to determine inventory needs. Place orders to transfer products daily from other Acme warehouses to maintain optimal stock levels. Coordinate with warehouse teams at other locations to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of transfer orders. Maintain inventory accuracy through good receiving procedures and cycle counts. Ensure inbound procedures are followed, including verification and inspection of goods. Order finished goods resale items from suppliers as needed to replenish inventory. Monitor inventory levels and adjust orders as necessary to prevent stockouts or overstock situations. Assist with quarterly inventory counts to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies. Conduct regular audits of inventory data to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly. Follow established QA procedures for receiving, put away, storage and shipping. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales and procurement, to optimize inventory management processes. Provide support for inventory-related initiatives and projects as assigned. Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions and adjustments. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations in all inventory-related activities. Other duties as assigned. About You Your Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration or related field. 2 years of proven experience working in inventory management, purchasing, or a related field. Experience with ERP or inventory management systems. Experience in manufacturing environment. Familiarity with inventory control processes and procedures. Your Skills & Abilities: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. Strong communication and personal skills. Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Office suite, with a strong understanding of Excel. Knowledge of inventory management principles and practices. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights. Problem-solving and decision-making skills. Completion of training programs as assigned and/or required including standard of work. Physical Requirements: Work environment may include sitting at a desk for extended periods or prolonged periods of standing. Occasional lifting and moving of boxes or materials may be required. Ability to work in a warehouse environment, including prolonged periods of standing, walking, and lifting heavy objects. Ability to drive and operate a forklift and/or high-low. Ability to work in cold (32 to 45F) and wet environment. Must be comfortable with exposure to uneven ground and floor angles. Must be comfortable with stretching, bending, pulling, etc. from time to time. Some travel may be required for inventory-related activities or training sessions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Health & Safety Requirements: Observe and follow all safety rules. Wear required PPE. Follow mandated OSHA regulations. Compensation Range: $59,000 - $76,000 annually This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
