We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager to oversee site-civil and large earthwork/solid waste projects along with geo-environmental assessments related to site development, heavy industry, and solid waste management associated with Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR).

We look for creative professionals to work on complex projects with collaborative, multidisciplinary project teams. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated and adaptable problem solver capable of integrating data in real time to develop solutions that meet evolving regulatory and client demands. As a senior project manager, minimal oversight to solve problems, create technically accurate reports and project documents, and management of technical/engineering teams is expected. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:

  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary project teams and nationwide company offices and client/project locations.
  • Manage and assist project teams in developing and executing technical approaches to problem-solving, specifically as related to preparing design-phase documents, obtaining project permits, and implementing remedial construction.
  • Prepare proposals and statement of qualification packages, project technical reports/deliverables, and regulatory compliance submissions. Manage and develop CCR closure and groundwater remedial alternatives assessments and cost analyses, remedial action work plans, and construction cost estimates under specific states’ regulatory programs.
  • Manage and implement pre-design site investigations, design-phase documents (engineering design drawing sets and associated specifications), permitting, and remedial construction.
  • Administer construction-phase engineering support including submittals review, contractor pay requisitions, change order requests and requests for information.
  • Manage construction field inspection and construction quality assurance (CQA) activities.
  • Understand client needs and support project principals to build and maintain trusted client relationships.
  • Coordinate with client representatives, and regulatory and external stakeholders. Be capable of managing financial and technical aspects of projects.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related. Master’s degree a plus.
  • 15+ years of relevant technical experience including preparation of site-civil design (groundwater remedial design a plus) and technical specifications for site-civil/earthen structure projects, remediation of contaminated sites, and site-civil aspects of remedial construction projects.
  • PE required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to technical details.
  • Experience in permitting, selecting remedial technologies, and implementing remedial designs including field engineering and construction inspection. Design/build or self-perform experience a plus.
  • Experience with the investigation and remediation of CCR, energy generation sites is strongly preferred.
  • Must be proficient at writing, reviewing, and editing technical reports to meet scope and quality objectives and client expectations.
  • Familiarity with earthwork, site-civil, geotechnical, stormwater aspects of residential/commercial/industrial projects is required.
  • Project management experience on comprehensive site-civil development and large earthwork projects required.
