A successful candidate contributes to the overall deliverables of the ODDU and beyond by leading a team of lab-based scientists who adopt state-of-the-art functional immunology technologies, and standardizes most-frequent-used assays, enabling teams to characterize mechanistic insight needed to advance our portfolio. In addition to providing technological/assay support, this role requires strong expertise and collaborative mindset to help manage resources across the team and the broader ODDU elevating new concepts to help initiate and advance projects in our portfolio. ACCOUNTABILITIES Demonstrate independence and resourcefulness with the ability to identify innovative approaches to support drug discovery and development in an industry setting our evolving portfolio in collaboration with research teams to Foster a collaborative and empowering mindset while establishing best practices for their team of lab-based scientists who are responsible for creating defining and executing rigorous experimental plans supporting research into how the immune system can be perturbed to create a more permissive tumor microenvironment. Collaborate with other Lab Heads and leaders within the ODDU to establish workflows and allocate resources effectively, maximizing the impact of data generated to facilitate portfolio progression. Collaborates with other departments, and disciplines, acting as scientific authority within discipline Contributes to continual deepening of scientific expertise through external network development; evaluating new external opportunities in partnership with business development. Capable of playing an active role in the evaluation of potential drug candidates for in-licensing or partnering. Familiarity with Electronic Lab Notebooks and best practices for documenting experiment is required. Preference for those with experience preparing/editing/reviewing of documents for regulatory submission (i.e., study reports, IB's, IND's) EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: PhD degree in a scientific discipline with 6 years experience, or MS with 12 years experience, or BS with 14 years experience. Right attitude (agile, curious, positive, open-minded, “can-do” mindset), must be willing and able to be “hands on,” results-oriented mindset. Determines methods on new assignments; makes strategic recommendations on projects; demonstrated independence; ability to manage junior staff with an emphasis on mentoring. Demonstrates well-developed knowledge of other disciplines / departments and how they function together. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including writing, reviewing and editing scientific documents and presenting to a range of stake-holders. Ability to work and drive decision-making within a multi-disciplinary, multi-regional, matrix teams with a global perspective with cultural competency. For Location: Boston, MA U.S. Base Salary Range: $149,100.00 - $234,300.00 The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
